John Maxtone-Graham is one of the world’s
most articulate maritime historians. On Friday evening,
November 10, 2006, he will give a one-hour illustrated talk,
a deft and evocative history of those Cunard immortals that
contributed so much to the legendary passages documented
in his authoritative book “The Only Way To Cross”.
Informative, entertaining
and devastatingly well informed, Maxtone-Graham is a consummate
performer.
He spends more than
half his year lecturing to cruise ship passengers all
over the world and is delighted to re-embark aboard the
Mary exactly half a century after he crossed eastbound
on her from New York to Southampton, Captain Bill Law
in command.
At a reception before
the talk, he will sign books that are for sale on board.
Audience members who already have their own volumes should
bring them along for dedication and signature.
