H-WING DISCUSSIONS - THE NET STRIKES BACK
Amazing how something as simple as changing the look of your car will rile people up.
Maybe it's because cars are so commonplace, and people get nervous that I've deviated from the norm. I get quite a bit of traffic over the net, some positive, some negative. People slam me, others defend me... It's been rather fun to watch. I've included a sampling of the more interesting comments below, mostly for
my own records. Green is pro, red is con. Spelling, grammar and content belong to the posters. I have omitted the negative posts that just contain swearing. : )

FYI: "Rice" refers to modifying your import car with body kits, large spoilers, and cheesy mods.
I generally don't consider my car "riced out", but other people do- this seems to be a major point of argument in the comments below
. I have been listed by someone at RiceCop.Com, and I seem to be losing on the "rice" side of things. Disagree? View my profile and vote for me here.

Dark Sol del Sol Forum:

it takes a lot of ingenuity to even come up with a concept like that. i was stoked the first time i saw it in person thats for sure.
---
So Full Props to the new Sol of the Month, I think it's cool that finaly a guy with a TRULY original Sol got it, and got it for doing his thing. You have to say this Toda. You can't say he's done the "rice" headlamp washer and single wiper conversion and thinks he has a performance car.
---
He's got the most unique centerpice of a Sol I've ever seen.

...dont even tell me that is a star wars theme, I thought I was at the Barnum and Bailey circus webpage for a minute.

TeamFocalJet Focus Enthusiast Forum:

i saw this star wars civic one time, rice or not i liked it.
---
Are you refering to the infamous "H-Wing" ? [[lol]]
Coolest Honda ever!
---
its those fake laser guns on the side that are sweet! and the interior he did a great job on too.

that H wing looked tight in black primer like that, he should've kept it that way.

S2000 International Honda Forum:

You know, all that custom work is pretty well done. I think it looks god-awful, but imagine if he had put that work towards making the car sporty, I mean look at the cluster, it looks cool as hell.
---
WOW!!!!   Two thumbs up!
---
Definitely inventive! And he gets props for doing all *that* rather than covering his car in sod.
BTW...where does R2D2 sit?

I give the guy credit for all the work he put in, but that car is retarded looking. I would be so embarrassed to be seen in that vehicle.
---
I think the car would last around 10 minutes in the UK before somebody would send their Death Star to destroy it! The guy has balls the size of the twin moons of Tatooine, that's all I can say! A replica landspeeder would be cool but this creation is just a step too far down the road to Weirdsville.
---
Just for interest, how would you ever explain to an insurance company that one of your custom mods was a set of twin laser cannons with photon disrupters? I have problems with my "go faster stripes" and furry die.
---
Hated the movies, so you can imagine how I feel about this "car".

AudiWorld Forum:
Tickets to Star Wars $20, Honda Civic del sol $2000, paint job, laser guns, R2-D2 $3000, the result, Priceless...
---
* Yo stranger.......that f'n rules!
---
* That kicks ass. How do you open the doors though?
* I'm a Star Wars geek, but I'd never drive that,

SuperHonda:
i'm seriously impressed by his creativity. i mean, really, who would have EVER thought of this? It takes a certain amount of artistic talent blended with too much disposable income and a serious lack of taste, but you sure as hell can't call it un-original !
---
Props for creativity and the courage to drive that car!! I sure as hell wouldn't do it, but to each his own. And he will make major $$$ at star wars conventions and such. Not to mention, when he's done, he'll probably sell it to an even bigger geek for a fat wad of cash.
---
(his taste is a little wierd, but it takes all types.....) I wonder if the buttons make the little electronic 'blaster' sound? (it'd be better than a horn!) The geek in me cheers (hey, i'm 31, i saw the original STAR WARS when i was 8 or 9 when it first came out so i grew up with the whole thing), but the car modder in me is a little baffled and confused. You know this guy will probably tour this car and make $$$$ on it at conventions!
---
i dunno bout u guys but dat shit looks dope as hell...not dat i would drive it but its koo...alot of custom work and shit and da intierior is juss insane...
---
I think its pretty damn creative; where did he get all that crap though?
---
well, don't tell me you wouldn't want to have that steering wheel with those buttons on the tips of the steering wheel triggering the NOS !!! (or warp engines if you are a geek)
---
those guns on the sides can't be all that legal. care for a joust anyone?
As sad as it is, i kinda like it. I wouldnt be caught dead in it though.
---
I like it! May the FORCE be with us!, (just don't ask me to do some dumb shit like that to mine ).
---
that's pretty lame. The idea is cool, but come one, you can't wreck a nice sol, use a pinto or something...

SuperHonda Pt.2 (Different Thread):
Damn I think that car looks pretty tight really. What an interior.
---
i think thats the shit, no joke........ damn guns on the side...... that is GAngstar
---
Obviously none of us would drive that thing. But that crazy starwars fan put a shitload of effort into his car, all custom work. I think it looks a lot better than a lot of fucking riced out cars around my area. And at least its an original.
---
Laugh all you want now... but just wait untill he gets that hyperdrive kit installed and his energy shields upgraded... 0 - 60 (lightyears) in 2.2 seconds.....
Poor car .
---
ugly shit
---
I want to cry for that car.

Honda Cub Italia (translation from Italian by Babelfish):
Here as a "American fan" has thought to modify its CRX rendering it "only".  These are the lists of the modifications from he appportate:  (to You the arduous sentence.); -)  well I, do not approve of, but I must say that the way is beautiful why the fantasy is varied... evviva!!!
that merdaaaaaaaaa!  hehehe excused but has come to me from the deep one of the heart!

DSCR Forum:

Being a Star Wars freak, I think it's awesome.
---
Looks cool to me...I guess youd have to have enough boredome to do it though...

i've seen this b4 and it pissed me off big time .. i mean y do ppl just do this ?
---
WHAT THE HELL DID THEY DO TO THAT. Thats worse that Ronald McDonald's del sol.

Honda Hybrids Forum

yeah, the cannons really set-off the look. The rest of the guys in my squadron are sweatin' them. I'll PM with who makes them, but if you tell anyone I'll blast your ass.
---
haha. yah i've seen it before he started actually doing the car... well that's pretty original atleast. the interior has a touch of [censored] but outside it's a nifty design experiement.
---
that is HOT!.. looks like alot of time went into that thing. i just cant believe he drives around like that
---
oh that shit is awesome! and i'd only drive it when i was wearing my full stormtrooper suit too!
the red weathered fade on the hood is particularly bad ass.

bwaahhaha
That is just sad, if it were my son I'd make him change his last name

Fucked Company Forum:
[None... What do you expect on a forum called "Fucked Company", a positive attitude?] ;)

May God have mercy on their souls.
---
Fuck OBL, this fucker is the REAL terrorist!

SWFan Russian Forum (translation from Russian by Babelfish):
This is quite amazing, and indeed nevertheless does not fly
No, probably nevertheless it flies. Downward.

ForumTuningPT ((translation from Portugese by Babelfish)

With this car it is all RATADO!  Ganda machine!
---
The car is the maximum, in that the trilogy says respect, I find that it passed of a simple set of films for a true culture! It is excessively to see the first ones. A great cult, almost so great as tuning...
---
They say ok to say, respect the work dude... is necessary to be itself fanatic.
I am myself for the collection of 18 starfighters, 3 scenes made for me with action I appear separately bought ... never passed me for the head to make the same in one... CAR!

this CRX go to the extremity of the darksiderismo... ;)
---
We have that to form a movement of Toyotas Jedi! before this finishes everything in the hands it Empire.  ;)

New Zealand Hondas:

only an american loon will pull this kinda stunt. I like it :)
---
All he needs to do is finish it off nicely, and he'll have a uniquely themed show car!
---
Hmmm, I wonder if he's going to fit Twin Novaldex J-77 Event Horizon engines. I reckon it'll be good for low 3's on the quarter mile with them :)
---
God damn it, I want an R2 unit droid dome on the rear trunk/deck too.

Now I know why they say "only in america"
---
I hope it catches fire, prevent further embarassment to the H.

StangNet Mustang Forum:

I think that is one of the coolest (in a geeky way) things I have ever seen.
Don't get me wrong, its obviously over the top, but c'mon, how fun would that be?
This guy gets points for creativity and execution.

Go H-Wing!
---
i think that thing fuggin rocks! i usually don't like off-the-wall cars like that but he did that thing so perfectly

Someones a little TOO obsessed!!! I can't believe he thinks that looks COOL!!!!!!

Relicnews HomeWorld Game Forum

Its...beautifal...
---
That's quite a nice paint job, but the donor car is awful...
---
that car looks really nice imo. Seriously, would want one. I like the color scheme and the rebel symbols are nice to.
---
I think It looks pretty nice, At least its different, all the d*mn cars today look the same.
---
He appears to be doing just fine in the "got a life" department... if you read the description, his wife even helped him a bit. She got him the "OBISHWN" license plate, for one.

Now that's love.

*throws up in conveniently positioned bucket*

SHITONHONDA.com Rice Forums
it's pretty well done, considering the subject matter.
eww...

Jish.Nu Weblog:
Dude! I'd love to paint my car like that... *is a BIG Star Wars geek*
Yoda would say: "I see much geek in you. Live in your parents basement you must."

www.dirty.ru Russian home page (translation from Russian by Babelfish):
Sequential khardkornyy fanat of star wars altered its Honda Of chivich into  A.Wing Of starfighter. It is beautiful, of course, but modification under TIE fighuter would appear better.

Stopudovo. It is too clean.

Life, it is dirty piece.

Dirty.

LS1 Perforemance Forum
ok i was coming home when i heard the thunder. I saw a glowing red behind me. I started to get nervious i knew i could not win but i tried to be brave in the attempt. We started out at 100 and then his rocket thrusters kicked in. I saw him no longer but the whole front of my ta is melted. So i need a new front end and paint job anyone work at macco that could give me their employee discount? ............... please
---
Normally I'd call a Honda with a multi-color paintjob and that much work "rice". However, your car has got to be the coolest cosmeticly modified car I've seen in a looooong time!
---
Simply ingenius!
---
As a matter of fact, thats about the coolest del Sol I've ever seen!
Gotta give the guy credit for being creative though.
---
That is SOOOO BAdass I want one

" this just in Tom, intersteller rice was found earlier today. The story goes, a bunch of crazed star wars fans stole a Del Sol and went completely nuts. If this is the future of the automobile industry, kill me now. Bact to you Gene"
---
I can honestly say that is the most PATHETIC piece of ???? I've ever seen! What the hell are you thinking??
---
i believe that that is doctor evils car... and no it's not a "lazer" its a "death ray"
you should see mini me's car

The Worst Dr. Doom Forum Ever:

The laser cannons are a nice touch, though. And the uneven look of the metal, as if it's been damaged and repaired. And the five little Imperial symbols, racking up the pilot's "kills."

Fuck it; I'm just geeky enough to get a chuckle out of this thing. It's pretty subtle, in some ways. I wouldn't want to be seen in it, but I'm man enough to admit a slight case of digging what this big nerd has done. Rawk on, random SW geeK!

People like this is why I support the NRA.

NewCelica.org Forums:

he's not even rice. he's just plain crazy. gotta respect that.
---
I'm gonna do that to my car!!!!

I think these people need some type of professional help...and quick.
---
Oh...my...gosh. First I laugh but I wonder if those beam cannons on the sides of the ride are fully functional cause I got to get some installed on my ride to blast some dumb @$$ fools on the road. What a trip...this has made my night. And no... I am NOT serious about the cannon deal although it would be cool if they DID work. heh

S2Ki Forums:

Now....I love that Del Sol! I don't like the fake laser cannon on the door but that's a cool paint scheme. I think it would look better on a Fiat or that old Subaru(I forget the model) that was really angular(I always wanted to sand off the rear corners of those cars).
---
I know 2 or 3 people that would freak out if they saw this car and possibly experience an orgasm.

I wish I had a lightsaber just to cut those cars into pieces!
